For AGPA (Android Global Payment Application), Verifone's payment processing stack for Android devices, developed and maintained a system to:

• → Automatically configure Android builds for dozens of interdependent projects, keep dependencies synchronized and updated, and fix security issues.
• → Allow developers to build entire software stacks for Android payment terminals using a suite of custom Gradle plugins.
• → Configure devices for many different customers in regions throughout the world, tying into Verifone's configuration deployment system.
• → Run both CI and release builds on Jenkins, automatically rebuilding dependent projects to check for regressions.
• → Achieve optimal performance using advanced Gradle features (parallelism, build cache).

Independent Contractor

As an independent contractor, I worked for the following clients:

• → ZAM Apps (2020): Helped maintain ZAM's Laravel ERP app for winemakers, vinoEZ. Built new API endpoints and improved UI performance by streamlining existing code. Created an interactive import system that can handle a variety of different file formats and data types, allowing users to fix validation errors before importing large files.
• → Rewired Solutions (2020): Rewrote the backend for Rewired's legacy app to generate leads for job postings on social media. Architected and deployed a single-page app with a React frontend, Laravel REST API, and CI/CD integration. Used TDD to develop an extensive backend test suite.
• → Proplogix (2019): Helped develop a Laravel Web scraping project to collect property tax data for millions of homes. Helped develop an initial architecture plan for a common backend to be shared between a suite of Web and mobile apps.
• → Bookable (2019): Using TDD, wrote the Laravel backend code for a health and fitness marketplace startup. Integrated APIs for payments, geolocation, and image hosting.

Lead Software Developer

Acted as principal developer and technical lead on Dealers United's signature product: Facebook Inventory Ads. Using Laravel, built a system to:

• → Process inventory data from thousands of car dealerships—coming from dozens of different vehicle data providers and dealership website providers—into a unified format, using a custom ETL pipeline.
• → Upload inventory to Facebook product catalogs, Facebook Marketplace, and other third parties.
• → Retarget dealerships' website traffic for Facebook ads using Google Tag Manager and custom JavaScript; injected custom tracking phone numbers using the Twilio API.
• → Automatically onboard car dealerships from around the U.S. and Canada and deploy inventory ad campaigns using Facebook's Marketing API.
• → Forward sales leads from active campaigns to car dealerships' CRMs.
• → Enable agencies to resell ("whitelabel") our product, making it a multi-tenant app.

By December 2018, Dealers United's Facebook Inventory Ads product was responsible for 16% of all automotive inventory-based ad revenue on Facebook. The product won Ringling College's Innovation by Creative Design award for 2018.

Software Developer

• → Maintained Sangoma's single sign-on/customer portal site, Polaris, a custom-developed PHP site.
• → Started the process of migrating Polaris to Laravel.
• → Maintained and expanded a Java Spring Framework application that used the Google Drive API to send salespeople spreadsheets with their commissions.
• → Worked on Java APIs to improve user authentication and data exchange between services.
• → Helped maintain internal systems for project management and source code management.

Lead Software Developer

• → Completely rewrote Drive Digital's signature product, Drivematic, an automated advertising system for car dealerships' used inventory.
• → Using Laravel, created processes to generate PPC ads for vehicles and synchronize them with the Google AdWords API.
• → Implemented landing pages for ads to maximize conversions.
• → Created a reporting system to allow car dealerships to monitor ad performance.
